I started getting acne when I was about 13, 14 years old. I’m now 17 and over the years I’ve been given numerous medication such as Retin-A Micro, Benacyclin, Tetrycyclin, some pills that I cannot remember the name of, and also some pads called Tazorac or something like that. The Benacyclin helped a little with stopping breakouts but, it didn’t help my scarring. My dermatologist mentioned Accutane as a suitable treatment for me but, I didn’t want that because I’ve heard it doesn’t get rid of scarring. I went a few weeks ago and had microdermabrasion done and I’ve been on a 3 step system called Obagi for a month now but, I don’t really see any results. I am supposed to have about 5 more microdermabrasion sessions and they said maybe a chemical peel. My question is: Should I go on Accutane or continue the microdermabrasion? I want to keep my acne under control but, get RID of scars too; home remedies do not work for me.
I used to have acne, and it got very bad when I started college. Because of that, I now have a lot of acne scarring. The thing is, they’re not visible red scars, but I think they’re pockmarks. Basically, you can’t really see them if you look at my face straight on, but if I’m in bright lighting, or if the light or sun hits my face at a certain angle, my face looks really bumpy. I hate this soo much and I am always self-conscious when I’m out in the sunshine worrying that my face looks horrible. Are there any products I can buy to diminish these marks? I tried AcneFree Pockmark Filler for 3 weeks, but it didn’t seem to help much. Is there a microdermabrasion treatment or something else I can buy and use at home? I just want smoother skin without having to resort to a medical procedure. Any tips would be great!
